The MARISS Core Users are a group of experts in Maritime Security from 7 different European nationalities. They represent some of the main key end-users organizations in Europe, who can benefit from the MARISS portfolio.

  Frontex EU
FRONTEX coordinates operational cooperation between Member States in the field of management of external borders; assists Member States in the training of national border guards, including the establishment of common training standards; carries out risk analyses; follows up the development of research relevant for the control and surveillance of external borders; assists Member States in circumstances requiring increased technical and operational assistance at external borders; and provides Member States with the necessary support in organising joint return operations.

The Italian Coast Guard is mainly responsible of the civil use of Italian waters. Their main activities are:

Hellenic Coast Guard Hellenic Coast Guard - Ministry of Mercantile Marine Greece
The Greek Ministry of Mercantile Marine is in charge of the organization, improvement, protection and development of mercantile structures. They also support maritime tourism, facilitating sea navigation, offering human safety, and protecting the marine environment.
DAMGM DAMGM - Ministere des Transports/direction des Affaires Maritimes France
DAMGM is the transport ministry of France, which main activities are related to maritime security, the use of French waters, development of harbours and transport control in littoral waters.

The French Navy is responsible of maritime surveillance, and control of terrorism and illegal trafficking.

The organization Puertos del Estado has direct responsibility for the Spanish planning, coordination and control system of maritime signals, as well as for promotion of the technical training, research and development about this matter.
