Near Real Time Traffic Monitoring |
The objective of Near Real Time Traffic Monitoring services is to enhance capabilities to track vessels back and forward at sea borders and identify them as friends or suspects.
This Service Class consists of two main services typologies:
- Vessel Detection In Open Areas
- Vessel Tracking at Sea Borders
Added value: Exploitation of Earth Observation global monitoring for the improvement of tactical traffic picture compilation capabilities by integrating SAR data (ship size and position) with AIS, VTS and VMS in-situ data

Strategic Surveillance |
Presence or absence or abnormal speed, heading, size or number of ships with respect to a-priori knowledge provided by intelligence or communication systems.
Strategic Surveillance services can reveal anomalies such as ships which should not be found at a particular place, ships whose route is not the usual one, ships moored in a place for unusual periods and people movements among others.
It triggers specific surveillance activities in specific sensitive sea areas helping analysts facing difficult tasks and critical situations.
Added value: Combination of radar and optical satellites, for monitoring critical areas sensitive for illegal emigration.
